This Accredited Short Course (which is the nationally recognised unit CHCDFV001 - Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence) describes the knowledge and skills required to identify and respond to the needs of clients who may be experiencing domestic and family violence, including responding to immediate intervention and support needs.
There are no entry requirements, however this short course is best suited for students who are health and community services workers. Students do not need to be specialised family violence workers, but should provide services according to established organisation procedures.

On completion of this course, students will receive a Short Course Statement of Attainment. This unit assists students to develop knowledge and skills for application in a range of human services where workers may encounter victims of domestic and family violence. The unit CHCDFV001 is a foundational unit for specialised units CHCDFV002, CHCDFV004.
