Australian/New Zealand Applicant
To be eligible to apply directly to CQUniversity you must meet all of the following criteria:
You are an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen.
You are not currently attending school.
You are not wishing to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning.
You are not wishing to apply for an Apprenticeship or Traineeship.
International Applicant
You are considered as an International Applicant if you meet the following criteria:
If you are not an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen; and
You require a student visa to enter and study in Austraia; or
You are residing outside of Australia.
You are also considered as an International Applicant if you meet the following criteria:
If you are not an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen; and
You are in Australia on a temporary entry permit with study rights.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process of an individual’s previously obtained skills and
knowledge that has been achieved outside the formal education and training system.
To be eligible to apply for RPL you will need to meet the following criteria:
A person needs to be currently working in the industry they are requesting RPL for, or have worked in the
industry in the recent past (within the last 12 to 18 months)
Be prepared to discuss your experience with your assessor.
Provide documented evidence in support of your skills and knowledge.
Supply third-party information (Supervisor/employer) who will be contacted by our assessor for verification
of your experience.

Start TAFE Now
To be eligible to apply for a Start TAFE Now course with CQUniversity you must meet all of the following criteria:
Have a sound achievement result in Year 10 Maths and English subjects or equivalent prior to enrolling in the program
Complete the online basic key skill builder (BKSB) pre-enrolment language and literacy (LLN) testing
Be in Year 11 or 12* to participate in most courses
Identify the Start TAFE Now program in their Senior Education and Training (SET) plan
Remain enrolled in and attend a Queensland school throughout the duration of the program
* Applicants for Year 10 students may also be considered, who meet the eligibility requirements and would like to study a course under the Start TAFE Now program.
