You will gain knowledge and skills to evaluate T&D needs, recommend appropriate interventions, evaluate T&D outcomes, and experience the role of a trainer and a trainee. Feedback, Recommendations and Responses
Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.
Feedback from Self-reflection and student performance data
Weekly Knowledge Checks
Introduce short, non-assessed weekly knowledge checks alongside the existing weekly summary sheets. These will provide students with regular opportunities to consolidate key concepts, check their understanding and identify areas requiring further revision.
Feedback from Student attendance and teaching team reflection
Later Class Times
Continue scheduling classes later in the day, where operationally possible. The move to a 5:00 pm class time in 2026 resulted in improved attendance and better accommodated students balancing study with work and other commitments.
Feedback from Teaching team reflection and ongoing departmental review
Assessment Structure and Design
Continue the review of the unit assessment structure, with any approved revisions to be implemented for the 2027 offering. The revised structure should focus on clearer scaffolding of learning, progression between assessment tasks, and alignment between weekly learning activities and assessment requirements.
Feedback from Unit Coordinator self-reflection and ongoing assessment review
Unit Content and Learning Resources
Undertake a broader review of unit content and learning resources following the completion of the assessment review. While lecture materials have recently been updated, the prescribed textbook and supporting learning resources should also be reviewed to ensure they remain current and align with the revised assessment structure and contemporary training and development practice.
