This skill set is for individuals who work in a surface coal mine context, and who work under direct supervision in operational roles.

Delivery Agreement

The assessors must have a minimum number of years of current work experience in the coal mining industry.  This is stated under the Assessment Conditions of each unit in the skill set within the training package.   All other compliance requirements under the RTO Standards 2015 must also be met. 

Course Structures
New To Industry NTI Course Structure

73.5 hours of structured training, including Standard 11 and foundational units which will provide strong underpinning knowledge and skills in line with the organisation’s values and culture. Training is delivered over 7 days, with each shift being 12 hours (10.5 hours of learning). Learners are put onto a rolling roster, which comprises 7-days on and 7-days off including morning shifts and afternoon shifts. This block includes structured training, which is delivered off the job within the BHP training environment (FutureFit Academy).
