Course Summary

The PUA50120 Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management) is designed for personnel undertaking emergency management responsibilities at an incident, emergency or disaster. This will include the coordination of resources, personnel and entities as well as the coordination of activities with other organisations.

The role of personnel is to assist in the management for an incident, emergency or disaster. Personnel undertaking emergency management responsibilities may work in multi-organisational teams.

This qualification includes the units of competency required by personnel for performing a range of activities such as planning and the coordination of activities for an incident, emergency or disaster. This supports prevention of, preparedness for, response to and recovery from such events.

Required:

Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.

Candidates may enter the qualification through a number of entry points demonstrating potential to undertake vocational education and training at this qualification level.

Digital Literacy - The student will need to have access to the internet and the ability to:

Use search engines to search the internet
Navigate websites
Download and upload documents
Confidently manage files and documents on their computer, including organising their documents into folders, moving, copying, and renaming documents
Type and format documents in Word, including working with tables,
Manage text (i.e. cut/copy/paste)

VET Student Loan Information
