Undertaking this micro-credential enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. 1. Understand the factors which influence the decision to transition from rescue to recovery including legal authority and roles of those involved in body recovery operations
2. Outline the international Disaster Victim Identification process, applicable to mass fatality incidents
3. Recognise the factors in pre-planning recovery operations and the recovery management team structure and roles and equipment used for body recovery
4. Identify the health and safety factors to consider in managing decomposition, altered pathology, infection control and personal safety
5. Identify common reactions to traumatic events and the sources of information useful for recovery personnel, affected families and managing the media
6. Identify the required protocols for recording information evidential purposes and giving evidence in court as a witness.
