Course Summary

This online short course focuses on leadership and teams. We will use Belbin’s Team Roles as our approach when we look at what it means to lead a physical team, what the challenges are, and what kind of leadership is needed. Belbin’s Team Roles take into account how people behave when in a group and uses that to select the right people for the team, and then what their role within the team will be. We are looking at personalities, not skills, as the basis of good physical teams. We will then look at virtual teams which are now a fact of life, so how to work with them is becoming crucial. You will explore the challenges of leading virtual teams and learn about ways to motivate and optimise performances.

Students who successfully complete the set of nine Short Courses* developed from the unit BUSN20023 People, Leadership and Culture, (which forms part of the Master of Business Administration (Leadership) CL39, may be eligible for credit transfer, pending all other entry requirements to the Master of Business Administration (Leadership) CL39 are being met, as automatic entry will not apply.
