Granular Products (GP) is an Australian owned business dedicated to the development, production and supply of premium granular herbicides. With all manufacturing proudly occurring in Australia, the company delivers high-quality products designed to improve productivity of Australian pastures.

This micro-credential will equip you with in depth knowledge on best practices for using GP Flupropanate and GP FluPro herbicides.  You will gain foundational skills in weed identification with a focus on Sporobolus and Poa grasses.  You will explore plant functions to understand how herbicides impact these pathways, investigate application options, and integrate this knowledge into effective on-farm weed management strategies. 

This micro-credential provides key knowledge for making high-level recommendations on GP Flupropanate and GP FluPro, including label requirements and SDS guidelines, ensuring proficiency in their safe and effective use within integrated weed management systems.


Entry Requirements

This micro-credential has restricted access for employees and resellers of Granular Products. You do not have to be a CQUniversity student. 

The students of this micro-credential will be Granular Products:

  • Employees (approx 6 across sales and technical specialist roles)
  • Resellers (Granular Products holds approx. 80 reseller distribution accounts totaling approx. 120 employees )

Course Structures

Study Mode Definitions

  • Online: Online courses provide the flexibility to study without normally requiring a student to visit a campus. Course content is studied through a number of means including the use of online discussion forums, electronic library resources, by contacting lecturers and teachers, and receiving study materials online/electronically. Work integrated learning, including placements, may be included in some courses.
  • On-campus: Students studying in on-campus mode typically are expected to attend and participate in regular, structured on-campus teaching and learning activities throughout the University’s academic term. These activities may include lectures, tutorials, workshops and practice, online or other activities and normally will be timetabled at a CQUniversity campus or approved delivery site.
  • Mixed Mode: Students studying in mixed mode will participate in a combination of online learning activities in addition to site-specific learning activities, which may include residential schools, co-op placements and/or work-integrated learning as a compulsory requirement of a unit. The additional site-specific learning activities are what differentiates a mixed-mode unit from an online unit.

Course Assessment Information

RPL - Students who have previous informal and formal learning need to advise their trainer/assessor prior to enrolment. If the student wishes to apply for an RPL they need to apply to the RPL Centre.
Credit transfer - If credit for relevant formal qualifications is sought, then the process will be actioned after the student has enrolled in at least one unit of competency as directed by the relevant trainer/assessor. The Trainer/Assessor will work with the student on their credit transfer application, and provide advice and support as necessary.

Course Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this micro-credential, you will be able to:

  1. Identify Sporobolus and Poa grasses, including an understanding of their growth patterns and environmental impact
  2. Understand and recommend best practices for the safe and effective use of GP Flupropanate Granular and GP FluPro herbicides, including adherence to product labels, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines and regulatory requirements
  3. Critique and explain weed management techniques that incorporate effective use of Flupropanate Granular and FluPro as part of an integrated weed management approach and identify when use of these products is not recommended.

Completion of this micro-credential acknowledges to Granular Products you understand the safe and effective application of Flupropanate Granular and FluPro liquid herbicides as part of an integrated weed management system.
