This micro-credential aligns with Action 5 of the CQUniversity Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This micro-credential is aimed at higher education teaching academics and researchers and provides a sequence of modules to assist this defined group to implement the University's First Nations Cultural Competency Framework 2023 - 2028. Modules explore the scaffolded stages of cultural competency detailed in the Framework and focuses on practical ways to improve teaching pedagogy that reflects First Nations cultural competency. Participants will explore approaches to embed First Nations perspectives, voices and knowledges in teaching and learning. They will also learn how to navigate the challenges of essentialised and static constructions of First Nations people and the inequalities that exist within societal and institutional systems and structures. The final module explores theories that can be applied to build cultural competency in professional practice and deepen student learning.
This micro-credential is also awarded a digital badge and Certificate of Completion which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.
