This qualification reflects the role of workers who provide support for the effective functioning of health services. At this level workers complete tasks under supervision involving known routines and procedures or complete routine and variable tasks in collaboration with others in a team environment.
The Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) online literacy and numeracy assessment must be completed by all students prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher-level course. The BKSB assessment is not used to determine eligibility for entry, but to indicate where students may require further assistance to develop the literacy and numeracy skills embedded in the qualification.
There are no entry requirements for this course however all students are required to collect and complete mandatory checks as per CQUniversity policy in preparation for the compulsory vocational placement. Please make yourself familiar with the Compulsory Pre-Placement Requirements.
These mandatory vocational placement requirements ensure patient and student safety. Also refer to the Clinical Placement Guidelines and Mandatory Checks Requirements for Vocational Placement requirements.
Students must complete a Vocational Placement and/or Work Integrated Learning as part of this qualification.
Additional information
Mandatory Vocational Placement Requirements:
Students are required to attend three (3) days Vocational Placement to complete the qualification. CQUniversity will support students by sourcing placement in relevant clinics, facilities or organisations and have a suitably qualified supervisor from that sector to sign them off on industry reports. These reports assess the students' ability to perform tasks in the workplace.
As per the CQUniversity policy, students will need to submit the required Mandatory Checks prior to attending Vocational Placement.
