This qualification is designed for individuals who require further foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways. It is suitable for individuals who require:
◾ a pathway to employment or vocational training.
◾ reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3.
◾ entry level digital literacy and employability skills.
◾ a vocational training and employment plan.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:
14 units of competency -
◾ 1 core unit and 13 elective units.
Electives - up to 5 from Group A (Numeracy); 5 from Group B (Reading, writing, oral communication, learning and digital technology); 3 from any endorsed qualification or course (other than FSK)
Elective units must be relevant to vocational pathways and not duplicate the outcomes of already selected units.
As this course is a foundational qualification, students are required to undertake a pre-training assessment using the Basic Key Skills Builder bksb© to determine if the learner’s skill level is below the Australian Course Skills Framework (ACSF) level 3.
Additional language and literacy pre-assessments with a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) specialist is also required to determine eligibility for Foundation Skills funding into this course.
Students will be required to have access to a computer with internet through a CQUniversity campus or local council library if no access to a home computer.

FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways is an online self-paced learning course which provides learners with support for the development of foundation skills needed to prepare for workforce entry and vocational training pathways.
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates will have developed foundation skills to prepare them on a pathway to employment or for further vocational training of their choice.

Yes. Your history of study, skills and experience does matter. Consideration is given to your prior life and work experiences as well as formal and informal training. This may be applied using the national standard for Mutual Recognition or through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Documentary evidence will be requested.
