Course Summary

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who work in a range of human resources roles. The job roles that relate to this qualification may include Human Resources Officer, Human Resources Coordinator and Payroll Officer.

Responsibilities are likely to be determined at a workplace level. Some smaller organisations may require employees to work across all aspects of human resources. In larger organisations, individuals may support a single human resources function.

Entry Requirements

Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.

What is the purpose of bksb?

The bksb is an approved online review tool that will give the student a level for their English (literacy) and Maths (numeracy) levels, and can also help to identify any skill gaps or areas that the student might need additional support in.

Student Outcomes, Career Opportunities and Occupations

This qualification consists of competency in 6 core and 6 elective units. Upon completing all 12 units, students will receive a Certificate IV in Human Resource Management.

Career opportunities: Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Coordinator, Human Resources Officer and Payroll Officer.

Pathways: Students who successfully complete BSB40420 Certificate IV in Human Resource Management will be eligible for direct entry into BSB50320 Diploma of Human Resource Management and CL86 Bachelor of Business.

Course Structures
Online Course

Part Time: 12mths - 18 mths

One (1) unit per 10 week study period

To ensure you can manage your study load, we recommended limiting your workload to no more than one (1) unit per study period.

Some students may progress at a faster rate based on their experience, knowledge, and skills, as they will be able to apply the actual context of workplace experience to their assessments.

This qualification consists of competency in 6 core and 6 elective units.

Six (6) electives have been recommended for the Online Course delivery. 

Students should enrol in a maximum of one (1) unit at a time. 

For students wishing to enrol into more than the recommended one (1) unit maximum, this must be discussed with the Teacher prior to enrolling. 

On successful completion of all 12 units, students will receive a Certificate IV in Human Resource Management.
