Gain welding certification (AS1796) by completing this short course which includes statutory and regulatory requirements, interpret welding terms, codes and symbols, effects of heat treatment, sequencing and planning as well as practical elements in either gas tungsten arc welding, alloy steel pipe, or alloy steel pipe over 270mm diameter. To qualify for the full Welders Certification students will be required to complete the theory unit, MEM05026C from the short course Welding Certification - Theory (ACC00006) as well as the practical units from Welding Certification - Practical (ACC00005).
Participants need to have a trade background in boilermaking, metal fabrication or fitting trades to undertake this course. To be eligible copies of completed qualification/s which include any pre-requisites must be provided to the teacher prior to enrolment. If students do not hold a trade qualification, students must supply evidence of 200 -300 hours of welding experience.
