Course Summary

Are you interested in a career in a justice related profession? Students learn how to research, analyse and present information relevant to the criminal justice system and communicate with clients on justice related issues. The intended purpose of this course is to provide participants with a sound grounding in workplace skills, knowledge of organisations and management practice, legal knowledge to work effectively and research in the justice field.

This course has moved into a transition period. All students currently studying this course must complete their study by August 2022.  The last date of enrolment for new students is 30.9.21.

Standard Course Structure

Learners have a finish date for individual units but may complete their training sooner if they have reached the required skill level. As most students will undertake this distance program on a part-time basis, the duration for the full qualification will vary. The course can typically be completed in 12-18 months, based on approximately 1300 hours of learning.

A recommended unit sequence is provided for this course. Students should only enrol in a maximum of two units at a time. Students wishing to enrol in more than 2 units must have approval of the CQUniversity VET teacher.

CJSSJI403 and BSBRES411 are delivered as a cluster and therefore must be enrolled together in the same intake.
