Mathematics is used to solve many types of problems. This online micro-credential will explore the study of fundamental mathematics. You will be provided with activities to learn basic operations with numbers and percentages. This micro-credential provides you with techniques for solving mathematical problems and tools for communicating mathematical solutions.

Students who successfully complete the CQUniversity School of Access Education's Fundamental Mathematics: Concepts and Skills set of 4 micro-credentials, may receive a unit exemption from the equivalent CL03 Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) unit with CQUniversity.

To be eligible for this exemption, students must have completed:

  1. Fractions, Decimals and Percentages
  2. Algebraic Expressions and Linear Equations
  3. Introduction to Exponents, Statistics and Units
  4. Fundamental Mathematics - Concepts and Skills: Assessment Module

This online micro-credential provides a digital badge which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.

Student Outcomes, Career Opportunities and Occupations

Undertaking this micro-credential enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the micro-credential, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a Digital Badge and a Certificate of Completion.

Students who successfully complete the set of 4 micro-credentials* developed from the unit MATH40237 Fundamental Mathematics for University, (which forms part of the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03), may be eligible for exemption, pending all other entry requirements to the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 are being met, as automatic entry will not apply.
