Microcredential Summary

Critical thinking skills are important across all aspects of your studies. This online micro-credential will explore the concept of critical thinking as an analytical and discerning approach to evaluating information. This course will introduce critical thinking strategies to assess the validity of information, recognise faulty reasoning, and examine arguments from different perspectives so you can apply these techniques to your study and every day practices.

Students who successfully complete the CQUniversity School of Access Education's Preparation Skills for University set of 9 micro-credentials, may receive a unit exemption from the equivalent CL03 Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) unit with CQUniversity.

To be eligible for this exemption, students must have completed:

This online micro-credential provides a digital badge which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.

How to Apply
  1. Once you have selected your desired micro-credential, you can now add it to your shopping cart to enable you to purchase more than one "course" in a single transaction. 
  2. Once you have added all the micro-credentials you wish to purchase, you will be directed to the payment gateway and will be asked to "authenticate" your account on our Learning Management System Be Different.

Student Outcomes, Career Opportunities and Occupations

Undertaking this micro-credential enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the micro-credential, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a Digital Badge and a Certificate of Completion.

Students who successfully complete the set of 9 micro-credentials* developed from the unit SKIL40025 Preparation Skills for University, (which forms part of the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03), may be eligible for exemption, pending all other entry requirements to the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 are being met, as automatic entry will not apply.
