This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of ‘pass’ in order to pass the unit. If any ‘pass/fail’ tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully (‘pass’ grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the ‘assessment task’ section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%).

Feedback, Recommendations and Responses

Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.

Source: Unit Coordinator
Feedback
Upon reflection, the unit lectures require consolidation to provide students with more time to prepare for final assessments in their final year.
Recommendation
It is recommended to adjust the unit schedule by consolidating lectures into an intensive block (mid-term), hence offering students more time to prepare for final assessments. This adjustment aims to minimise stressors and improve overall learning experience in their final year.
Action Taken
An intensive block (mid-term) was offered in 2024 to introduce students to discipline specific legalities and governance. This was well received when discussing informally with students.
Source: Informal student feedback and Unit Coordinator reflection
Feedback
Students may benefit from self-directed learning activities prior to their week 5 intensive.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Unit Coordinator develops pre-reading activities and discussion posts for students to undertake prior to their week 5 intensive.

Feedback
It was noted that the delivery of an intensive block of lectures mid-term was successful and instrumental in creating a positive 2024 delivery of this unit and collaborated well with PODI14011.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the 2.5 day intensive session continues to be delivered in collaboration with PODI14011, if this is practical.
