NUTR29004 - Placement: ICM Networking and Practice Modules

Showing: 2026 HE Term 1
General Information

Unit Synopsis

In this unit you will complete a 6 week professional placement in a regional healthcare setting. The purpose of this placement is to provide you with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the Course Learning Outcomes and the National Competency Standards (Dietitians Australia, 2021) specifically in a setting where you are managing the dietetics care of individuals who are more medically or socially complex. Working in this setting it will be important to critically reflect on your scope of practice and seek appropriate clinical supervision and support as required. This placement is also designed to provide you with the opportunity to build your professional network so after graduation you can continue to seek dietetics expertise when required. This unit also includes self-directed practice modules across the broader landscape of dietetics to help you to prepare for the workforce. You are required to complete two modules aligned with your internship and career preferences.
