Unit Synopsis
On completion of this unit, students should be able to use a word processor to format the layout of an academic essay and a report. The students should be able to use a spreadsheet to complete a workbook, create simple formula, apply simple functions as well as create and format charts. The students should be able to use the Internet, negotiate a Learning Management System and communicate using email at an academic level. Students should also be able to create a basic Power Point presentation appropriate for university units.

Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
Recommended Student Time Commitment
Each 6-credit Non-award unit at CQUniversity requires an overall time commitment of an average of 12.5 hours of study per week, making a total of 150 hours for the unit.

This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of ‘pass’ in order to pass the unit. If any ‘pass/fail’ tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully (‘pass’ grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the ‘assessment task’ section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%).

Students would like to be able to mark off tasks as 'done' in Moodle.
Edit Moodle site to include manual 'Mark as done' checkboxes for all weekly tile for next offering.
Manual completion checkboxes have been added to all weekly Moodle tiles, enabling students to mark activities as completed and monitor their progress throughout the term.

Continue to provide screen recorded video feedback for students on formative feedback and other queries through out term.
Screen-recorded video feedback has been embedded as a standard support practice for consolidation activities, with video feedback continuing to be provided across the unit unless an alternative format is requested.

Need to incorporate learning around AI, blogs, infographics and presentation recording to align with authentic assessment in undergraduate studies.
Review course format and content for opportunities to include learning outcomes aligned with changing undergraduate requirements.
Unit content has been reviewed and updated to better align with contemporary undergraduate study requirements. Authentic assessment practices have been strengthened through the introduction of interactive assessment review appointments with support tutors. Preparatory work has also been undertaken to transition the unit to Digital Literacies for University where content relating to Generative AI has been incorporated through reflective blog activities.
