CQUniversity offers three post graduate programs in the discipline of asset and maintenance management leading to the qualifications of Graduate Certificate in Asset and Maintenance Management, Graduate Diploma of Asset and Maintenance Management and Master of Asset and Maintenance Management. The programs are specifically aimed at people currently working in the field of asset and/or maintenance and wanting to upgrade their qualifications and skills.
The development of these programs has been in response to a strong and clearly-voiced demand from industry. The courses within these programs have been designed and developed in close collaboration with industry partners and experts.
The Asset and Maintenance Management program aims to produce graduates who understand asset management principles, maintenance philosophies, strategies and processes. Graduates will be able to develop their analytical skills in order to create sustainable, safe and cost effective solutions. Further, graduates will apply a range of practical skills and knowledge using the latest asset and management tools.
Career Information
The course is suited to those currently employed in the areas of maintenance engineering or maintenance and asset management, who would like to advance their careers through professional upgrading of their knowledge, skills and qualifications. It is appropriate for maintenance personnel across all industries as it covers maintenance/ asset management principles and practices that can be applied to any industrial maintenance organisation. The course is practically focused in that it develops the essential knowledge and skills required by both asset maintenance managers and maintenance practitioners to support the goals of the industrial organisation. This qualification is highly regarded by industry as reflected by the increasing requirement for maintenance engineering/maintenance management qualifications in the selection criteria for many vacancies in the maintenance management field. This course will help to advance the career of professionals associated with any engineering asset intensive organisation.

| Number of Units Required | CQUniversity uses the concept of credits to express the amount of study required for a particular course and individual units. The number of units varies between courses. Units in postgraduate courses normally consist of 6 points of credit or multiples thereof (e.g. 12, 18, 24). |

What do I need to start?
Entry Requirements
Applicants must have all of the following:
- Current employment in maintenance engineering/maintenance/asset management; and
- An associate diploma or degree in engineering, technology or applied science OR
-
an industry background, a trade qualification and demonstrated competence in the field of maintenance engineering/maintenance/asset management, with either:-
- minimum 2 years relevant maintenance/asset management experience; OR
- minimum 5 years relevant experience in maintenance engineering.
Notes:
1. Trade qualified applicants will be enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Asset and Maintenance Management and will be allowed to progress to the Graduate Diploma of Asset and Maintenance Management only after they have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate.
2. Applicants who do not satisfy all of the above eligibility criteria but are currently employed in an industrial organisation in a maintenance engineering or maintenance management-related role and have the support of their organisation, can apply and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
3. Applicants for individual courses should apply for single, non-award enrolment and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

- As part of assessment, you may be required to collect data from live equipment that may involve travelling to the site recording data from the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Accept that any risks associated with these activities will be your own or your company's responsibility.
- Collect data from CMMS or any equipment that is necessary to answer the question asked in the assignment from your workplace.
- Use the Microsoft Office suite of products, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. You must acquire these skills before attempting assignments.
- Attend online lecture and tutorials be familiar with hardware and software technology required for this purpose.
- Use the Moodle Learning Management System on a regular basis. Your understanding of the system, and also the helpdesk contacts details, must be handy for seeking help.
- Be equipped with virtual and email communication on your laptop as well as on your mobile phone that has roaming or Wi-Fi capability.
- Your laptop or desktop should also be ready with a Wi-Fi connection, with required software and hardware such as mouse, keyboard headphones external storage etc.
