The overall duration of studies for this course varies depending upon your choice of major and commencement term.  

Additionally, due to the strict pre-requisite requirements and limited term availabilities for the units in this course, students admitted to CC10 in Term 2 may have no units to enrol into until the following Term 3 or Term 1, depending upon their choice of major.

Advanced Mathematics Major

Number of units: 6 Total credit points: 48

This major is for:

  • A secondary school Mathematics teacher who wants to improve discipline (teaching area) content knowledge within their teaching area to teach Year 11-12 Mathematics Methods and Specialist Mathematics
  • A school teacher who wants to gain discipline (teaching area) content knowledge in order to add Advanced Mathematics as a new teaching area

NB: Students without a strong background in Mathematics are encouraged to contact the Head of Course to discuss their suitability for this major prior to commencement of the major units

Advanced Mathematics Discipline Content Knowledge Units

Students are to complete the following four Advanced Mathematics units.

When selecting units, students must adhere to any pre- or co-requisites, the term of offering and any residential school requirements.

Term 2 commencement: Due to the strict pre-requisite requirements and limited term availabilities for the units in this course, students admitted to CC10 in Term 2 who wish to undertake this major will have no units to enrol into until the following Term 1.
