Overview
Through foundation studies in either music theatre, drama or technical theatre you will undertake practical studies in various aspects of performance or technical theatre depending on your chosen major. If you are studying the music theatre major, you will focus on acting and dance (ballet, contemporary, tap and jazz). If you are studying the drama major you will focus on voice, acting and movement. If you are studying the technical theatre major you will explore the technical theatre process through practical projects. You are expected to demonstrate cumulative levels of skill and knowledge through this series of units.

Pre-requisites or Co-requisites
There are no requisites for this unit.
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Feedback from In-Class
Continuing to learn languages and singing in parts
Positive student feedback has been received relating to the positive learning experiences related to language learning and ensemble classes, where part-singing is precedent. The continuing of these elements has been requested and will continue to be embedded within the curriculum.
