In Progress
Please note that this Unit Profile is still in progress. The content below is subject to change.Overview
Within this clinical placement unit, you will develop your clinical reasoning abilities and practice ethical and professional behaviours. You will achieve this by integrating and using your current knowledge, physical skills and principles of evidence-based practice to function competently to a level of a graduate physiotherapist. The clinical placement associated with this unit will differ from other clinical placement units. It will allow you to develop specific skills within one of the many physiotherapy clinical areas of expertise, across a variety of settings and patient demographics, with an emphasis on effective and patient-centred management plans, within the framework of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).

Assessment Overview
Assessment Grading
This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of 'pass' in order to pass the unit. If any 'pass/fail' tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully ('pass' grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the 'assessment task' section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%). Consult the University's Grades and Results Policy for more details of interim results and final grades.

Feedback, Recommendations and Responses
Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.
Feedback from Student verbal and email communication
Students liked the opportunity to provide anonymous feedback after each placement via the means of a survey on the assessment tool website (APPLinkup).
It is recommended that units continue to be encouraged to complete the End of Unit Placement Evaluation Survey after the completion of each clinical placement. The Unit Coordinator will continue to utilise the feedback to plan placements for future years and address any concerns raised with placement providers.
