Your submission must include:

  1. The edited video exported as an .mp4 file. Embed this as an Echo360 file to your submission. For instructions on how to do this, see this link.
  2. The raw, unedited interview footage, compressed as a .zip file if this includes multiple files (e.g. separate audio and video files). The raw b-roll footage is NOT required.
  3. A high-resolution screenshot of your completed Adobe Premiere Pro project's workspace with the timeline and project window clearly visible, saved as a JPEG image.
  4. A high-resolution screenshot of your sequence settings in Adobe Premiere Pro, saved as a JPEG image.

Please refer to the unit website (Moodle) for a detailed assessment description and criteria.

3 Practical Assessment

Assessment Title
Digital video package

Task Description

For this assignment you will plan and produce two videos that work together to form an audiovisual package promoting a product or service. This may be an existing product or service or may be one invented for the assignment. The product or service must be generic, and you may not include copyrighted or trademarked products or branding in your package unless you have secured permission to use an existing brand.

Examples of acceptable products or services might include:

  • Peanut butter (but not a specific brand of peanut butter)
  • Fruit smoothies
  • An online service that curates cute videos of animals for subscribers

The package will contain two live action videos of exactly 5 seconds and 30 seconds in length produced for different online platforms. Extensive preproduction and visualisation will be conducted to create innovative sequences that accomplish consistency and continuity in shape, movement, colour, lighting and sound between shots. Each video must be optimised for a different release platform chosen from the list below:

  • YouTube
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • Snapchat
  • X or Bluesky
  • Twitch

As well as the two completed video files, you must submit a 500 word creative statement that expresses an overall creative vision for the package and includes the following details for each video:

  1. Chosen release platform and creative choices made based on this
  2. Target audience and creative choices made based on this
  3. Justification for chosen export settings based on chosen release platform
  4. Supporting research for these decisions referenced using APA 7th edition

While developing your project, you are expected to produce planning and visualisation documents introduced in unit content during weeks 9 and 10. These planning documents must be collated into a single file and submitted as a production folio. As a minimum, the documents required include:

  1. Script
  2. Storyboards
  3. Shooting schedule
  4. Signed talent release forms for all performers
  5. Completed risk assessment for the production

These documents will be created as part of the process of developing your project. They are not to be created retrospectively. You should include any additional artifacts that are created as part of your planning and production process in this folio. There is no specific format for the folio – it is simply a record of your creative process and planning.

Please refer to the unit website (Moodle) for a detailed assessment description and criteria.

AI Assessment scale tool:

AI Collaboration - You may use AI to assist with specific tasks such as drafting text, refining and evaluating your work. You must critically evaluate and modify any AI-generated content you use.

Academic Integrity Statement

As a CQUniversity student you are expected to act honestly in all aspects of your academic work.

Any assessable work undertaken or submitted for review or assessment must be your own work. Assessable work is any type of work you do to meet the assessment requirements in the unit, including draft work submitted for review and feedback and final work to be assessed.

When you use the ideas, words or data of others in your assessment, you must thoroughly and clearly acknowledge the source of this information by using the correct referencing style for your unit. Using others’ work without proper acknowledgement may be considered a form of intellectual dishonesty.

Participating honestly, respectfully, responsibly, and fairly in your university study ensures the CQUniversity qualification you earn will be valued as a true indication of your individual academic achievement and will continue to receive the respect and recognition it deserves.

As a student, you are responsible for reading and following CQUniversity’s policies, including the Student Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure. This policy sets out CQUniversity’s expectations of you to act with integrity, examples of academic integrity breaches to avoid, the processes used to address alleged breaches of academic integrity, and potential penalties.

What is a breach of academic integrity?

A breach of academic integrity includes but is not limited to plagiarism, self-plagiarism, collusion, cheating, contract cheating, and academic misconduct. The Student Academic Integrity Policy and Procedure defines what these terms mean and gives examples.

Why is academic integrity important?

A breach of academic integrity may result in one or more penalties, including suspension or even expulsion from the University. It can also have negative implications for student visas and future enrolment at CQUniversity or elsewhere. Students who engage in contract cheating also risk being blackmailed by contract cheating services.

Where can I get assistance?

For academic advice and guidance, the Academic Learning Centre (ALC) can support you in becoming confident in completing assessments with integrity and of high standard.
