You will explore the power of transformational leadership, learning how to inspire collaborative teams and confidently navigate change. At the same time, you will delve into the art of mentoring—a powerful, long-term approach to supporting growth and development in others while sharpening your own leadership identity. Through real-world case studies and critical reflection, you will examine values, motivation, personality, and the use of power to shape individual and team performance. You will also discover how culture and context influence the effectiveness of different leadership and mentoring styles. Importantly, this unit connects leadership and mentoring to global impact. You will explore how business consultants and organisational leaders—both internal and external—can align with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), turning businesses into catalysts for positive social change while still meeting stakeholder expectations. Pre-requisites or Co-requisites

Anti-requisite: MGMT29004 Transformational Leadership and Mentoring

Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
