Overview
This unit provides insights into law and regulations applicable to companies, focusing on analysis of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), ASIC's powers and functions and ASX's listing regulations. In this unit, you will explore topics including corporate personality, company incorporation and its consequences, rules for internal and external management, and company’s constitution You will also be introduced to the meaning and definitions of directors and other key personnel, types of directors, directors duties, corporate insolvency, and duties of auditors.

Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

Students requested more support for the assessments
Student support for the take home exam and other assessments was provided using Moodle announcements, CQU success, emails, and practice questions. Reviewing drafts of the written assessments was also provided and this has helped the students.
