General Information

Overview

This non-award unit will develop a students understanding of how outdoor pursuits can be used for both educational and recreational purposes and develop their teaching skills or understanding in a number of pursuit areas. Students will also develop their competencies in the development of programs for a range of client groups and study the role of teacher/instructors in a range of teaching and learning environments. Consideration will also be given to the study of safety aspects and the management and conservation of natural resources.

There are no requisites for this unit.

Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
