Overview
This unit is the capstone to the Networks and Information Security specialisation of the Master of Information Technology course. You are required to demonstrate the skills that you have developed throughout your specialisation, and apply these skills to an authentic task group network security project, including the design and technology implementation of a network security plan that meets the client's requirements. As part of a work portfolio, you will be required to produce project management artefacts typical of a commercial network security project.

Feedback, Recommendations and Responses
Every unit is reviewed for enhancement each year. At the most recent review, the following staff and student feedback items were identified and recommendations were made.
Feedback from Student's feedback and the teaching team.
Some students experienced challenges managing project group dynamics, including unequal participation, varying levels of commitment, and difficulty coordinating contributions among team members.
Continue to strengthen support for teamwork and project management skills, while providing mechanisms, including effective tools, to monitor individual contributions and address participation issues early in the project lifecycle.
Feedback from Discipline Lead and unit coordinator's feedback.
Students indicated that they would benefit from greater exposure to authentic industry practices and real-world project requirements to enhance the relevance and professional value of the capstone experience.
Explore opportunities to involve external industry partners or academic staff as project clients to provide authentic project contexts, stakeholder engagement experience, and practical feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
