Overview
Business processes enable organisations to deliver products or services effectively to their customers. In this unit, you will explore the core concepts of traditional, human-centric business process management (BPM) alongside contemporary, data-driven process analytics. You will gain hands-on experience in analysing, modelling, and evaluating business processes using industry-standard methods and analytical tools. This unit bridges the gap between how processes are designed and how work actually happens by teaching you to interpret digital event logs to identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies. You will apply these practical techniques to existing 'as-is' processes and model improved 'to-be' scenarios. Ultimately, this unit equips you with the skills to propose evidence-based process improvements and communicate recommendations effectively to professional audiences.

Pre-requisites or Co-requisites
Prerequisite: (COIT11239 or COMM11003) and COIT11226.
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
