Overview
This unit will introduce you to the aetiology, incidence, pathophysiology and clinical presentation of conditions commonly encountered in chiropractic practice. You will integrate this theoretical understanding with appropriate orthopaedic, neurologic and physical examination skills and continue to build on your clinical management skills.

Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
Recommended Student Time Commitment
Each 12-credit Undergraduate unit at CQUniversity requires an overall time commitment of an average of 25 hours of study per week, making a total of 300 hours for the unit.

Assessment Overview
Assessment Grading
This is a graded unit: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the unit of at least 50%, or an overall grade of 'pass' in order to pass the unit. If any 'pass/fail' tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully ('pass' grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the 'assessment task' section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%). Consult the University's Grades and Results Policy for more details of interim results and final grades.

This unit builds on previous units such as Foundation of Chiropractic Units CHIR11001, CHIR11003, CHIR12005 & CHIR12006 - (FCP1,2,3 & 4), these units provide the foundations for CHIR13013 and are expected knowledge.
1 On-campus Activity
The on-campus activities in this unit will serve as a continuous assessment of your skill development. You will receive ongoing verbal feedback in class to develop your key chiropractic skills. The weekly on-campus activities will vary in requirements and expectations. Each will be based on material from the previous week or current week, it is therefore essential that you review the material weekly.
The tasks will be completed during the first 10-15 minutes of each class. You will be provided with an on-campus activity sheet which you will be required to bring to each class and upon completion of the activity have your in-class tutor sign and date it. It is your responsibility to ensure this sheet is completed and kept safe as it is proof of completion. Once you have completed the assessment you will need to upload the signed checklist sheet into Moodle at the end of Week 12. This assignment requires 80% to pass. The On Campus Activity Sheet will be available on Moodle.
Please note, this is a pass/fail assessment task that means if you do not achieve a pass for this task you will not pass the unit. Supplementary assessments are not available for this pass/fail assessment item.
