Overview
Advanced Flight Theory 2 provides you with the advanced aviation knowledge aligned with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) curriculum (Part 61 Schedule 3). You will learn about advanced concepts of weather and air motion and how it affects the planning of flights and controlling an aircraft. You will study flight planning including designing flight paths and operations to suit a range of environments and conditions. You will learn about aircraft performance and loading procedures, including calculating aircraft weight and balance. The unit content is organised into various study modules corresponding to CASA Part 61 Schedule 3 exams. During the term, you are encouraged to take the CASA examinations soon after completing the relevant modules.

Pre-requisites or Co-requisites
Prerequisites - Advanced Flight Theory 1
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
