General Information

Overview

Mastering Debates in the Discipline is the second of the two coursework units in the Master of Arts (MA) course. The two coursework units provide discipline-context research training for the two subsequent dissertation units. You will acquire advanced research skills in your chosen discipline. You will engage with the trends, debates, and gaps in the literature relevant to a specific humanities or arts discipline. The assessment and output from this unit will vary according to discipline – it might be a guided literature review, a guided reflection on artefact creation (to be accompanied by an exegesis later) or perhaps another discipline-specific document clarified by your supervisor.

Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
