Overview
During this unit, you will apply the theoretical knowledge gained in preceding units to a professional workplace environment relevant to your discipline. This authentic practical experience will enable you to engage with industry practitioners, further develop your technical capabilities, and strengthen your professional communication skills. You will be supervised by a qualified practitioner in your field to complete tasks that make meaningful contributions to real workplace problems. As this is a 12-credit point unit, you will be expected to commit each week to supervised tasks, research, set activities, assessment activities and self-directed learning.

Pre-requisites or Co-requisites
To be eligible for enrolment in this unit, students must be enrolled in a Professional Project or Professional Practice Major. To gain entry to this major, students must have documented confirmation of support from their employer and the approval of the Head of Course. Approved students must have successfully completed at least 24 credit points of core units prior to enrolment in this unit.
Important note: Students enrolled in a subsequent unit who failed their pre-requisite unit, should drop the subsequent unit before the census date or within 10 working days of Fail grade notification. Students who do not drop the unit in this timeframe cannot later drop the unit without academic and financial liability. Attendance Requirements
All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes - in some units, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).
