Australian/New Zealand Applicant
To be eligible to apply directly to CQUniversity you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • You are an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen.
  • You are not currently attending school.
  • You are not wishing to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning.
  • You are not wishing to apply for an Apprenticeship or Traineeship.

You are considered as an International Applicant if you meet the following criteria:

  • If you are not an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen; and
  • You require a student visa to enter and study in Austraia; or
  • You are residing outside of Australia.

You are also considered as an International Applicant if you meet the following criteria:

  • If you are not an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen; and
  • You are in Australia on a temporary entry permit with study rights.

Apprenticeships & Traineeships

Start TAFE Now
To be eligible to apply for a Start TAFE Now course with CQUniversity you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have a sound achievement result in Year 10 Maths and English subjects or equivalent prior to enrolling in the program
  • Complete the online basic key skill builder (BKSB) pre-enrolment language and literacy (LLN) testing
  • Be in Year 11 or 12* to participate in most courses
  • Identify the Start TAFE Now program in their Senior Education and Training (SET) plan
  • Remain enrolled in and attend a Queensland school throughout the duration of the program
* Applicants for Year 10 students may also be considered, who meet the eligibility requirements and would like to study a course under the Start TAFE Now program. In this instance, please contact stn@cqu.edu.au prior to completing and submitting an application.
